While Power BI is a popular BI solution, it is not recommended as the primary reporting platform for Daktela data synced via BigQuery. The integration is technically possible, but comes with several caveats.
What's Supported
Clients with existing Power BI environments can connect to Daktela data stored in Daktela's BigQuery project, using Google's BigQuery connector for Power BI.
Limitations & Risks
- Integration with nested data (common in Daktela datasets) is poorly supported by Power BI source.
- Daktela cannot provide support for Power BI configuration or troubleshooting.
- Most internal experience and templates are based on Looker Studio.
- Power BI requires a steeper learning curve and more configuration compared to LS.
Only recommended for clients who:
- Already use Power BI across their organization.
- Have internal BI teams with strong knowledge of BQ-Power BI integration.
- Are aware of and accept the limitations.
- Cost:
- Setup: 1 MD one-off
- Monthly sync fee: see Configurator – 4.06 BI Package
- Additional costs for training or troubleshooting (if applicable) may be billed as one-time services.
