What you’ll do
We are currently looking for a modern PHP developer to help us develop and maintain an information system serving the entire company. We are not looking for a superhero, but a thoughtful person who wants to simplify things, use AI effectively, and find ways to save work for themselves and their colleagues through smart optimizations.
You will:
- Not just writing code, but actively looking for ways to speed things up and simplify them.
- Smartly using AI tools to speed up development, refactoring, and test generation (while maintaining best practices and security).
- Develop internal tools and scripts that streamline business processes—if you see someone doing something manually that could be automated, you'll be given the opportunity to automate it.
- Develop and maintain information systems written in CakePHP with heavy use of modern Symfony packages and a Bootstrap frontend.
- Look for bottlenecks in processes and proactively propose technical solutions that will save the company time or money.
- Work with Git in daily development, code reviews, and sprint planning.
- Collaborate with other teams across the company (Sales, Infra, Management).
Your experience and skills
- Willingness to learn, responsibility, and teamwork (a positive attitude and initiative are a must).
- Enthusiasm for AI-assisted development: You see AI as a "partner" that frees you from routine tasks, but you also understand the risks and know that you are ultimately responsible for safe and functional code (no mindless copying). .
- Experience with PHP development and MVC frameworks (we use CakePHP with Symfony packages).
- Knowledge of design patterns (Adapter, Composite, Mediator, Strategy, etc.).
- Good knowledge of SQL and working with databases.
- Basic knowledge of the Linux environment.
- Experience with REST API and XML.
- Experience with Git.
- Experience with static analysis (PHPStan) – an advantage.
- Communicative level of English (written and spoken).
- Czech or Slovak at C2 level.
- If you are switching from another language (C#, Java, Ruby, etc.), this is not an obstacle.
